Monsoon Kumbh Packing List for Nashik 2027

The Nashik Simhastha falls in the rains. Here is exactly what to pack to stay dry, safe and comfortable.

The 2027 Amrit Snans in Nashik and Trimbakeshwar fall between early August and mid-September—right in the monsoon. A little preparation makes all the difference.

Clothing

  • Quick-dry clothes (synthetic or blended)—cotton stays wet for hours.
  • A full poncho rather than an umbrella; umbrellas are hard to manage in crowds.
  • Two sets for snan day: one to bathe in, one dry set in a waterproof bag.
  • A light jacket for cool, damp evenings in Trimbak.

Footwear

  • Sandals with good grip for the ghats; stone steps become slippery.
  • Closed shoes for walking, ideally waterproof.
  • Avoid new footwear—blisters plus wet feet are miserable.

Waterproofing

  • Zip-lock pouches for phone, cash and ID.
  • A dry bag or heavy plastic bags for clothes.
  • A waterproof cover for your backpack.

Health

  • Mosquito repellent, and a net if you are staying in basic accommodation.
  • ORS sachets and your regular medicines.
  • Antifungal powder for feet.
  • Drink only sealed or purified water.

Documents and money

  • Printed copies of ID and bookings, kept in a zip-lock bag.
  • Small notes and some coins—card and UPI networks can be patchy in the rain.

Plan for delays

Heavy rain can slow road travel between Nashik and Trimbakeshwar, and between Nashik and Mumbai. Keep half a day of buffer before onward trains or flights.

If you would like a stay with covered walkways and power backup, ask us about the approved tent cities and hotels we work with.
