Why stay in Trimbak town for the Simhastha 2027, what accommodation is available, booking tips for Amrit Snan and Shravan, and how it compares with Nashik.
Trimbakeshwar is a small temple town at the foot of Brahmagiri, about 28 km from Nashik. Staying here puts you minutes from the Jyotirlinga and Kushavarta Kund, but rooms are limited, so planning is everything.
Why stay in Trimbak?
- Early darshan: join the queue before dawn without a 28 km drive.
- The Shaiva Amrit Snan at Kushavarta, including the Naga sadhu processions.
- Rituals: Kaal Sarp shanti, Narayan Nagbali and Tripindi shraddh are performed here, often over several hours or days. See our ritual guide.
- Brahmagiri and the source of the Godavari are right behind the town.
What's available
- Hotels and lodges around the temple, mostly simple to mid-range
- Guest houses and home stays run by local families, including some purohits' families
- Trust and dharmashala accommodation: check availability directly with the trusts
- A few resorts on the Nashik–Trimbak road, which need a short drive
Expect simpler facilities than in Nashik city. Confirm hot water, power backup and parking.
Booking tips
- Book very early for the Amrit Snans (2 August, 31 August and 12 September 2027) and Shravan Mondays in August, when the town is packed.
- Ask for walking time to the temple and to Kushavarta.
- Parking: many lodges have little or none, and vehicles may be stopped outside the town on snan days.
- Monsoon: ask about leaks and water-logging. Trimbak gets heavy rain.
- Get written confirmation, including cancellation terms.
