How to reach Nashik and Trimbakeshwar for the Simhastha 2027 by train, air and road, plus Mumbai and Pune routes and snan-day parking.
Nashik is well connected to Mumbai, Pune and the rest of India. Getting to Nashik is easy. Moving inside the city on Amrit Snan days is what needs planning.
By train
- Nashik Road is the main station, about 10 km from Panchavati. It is on the busy Mumbai–Delhi and Mumbai–Howrah lines, with trains from Mumbai, Delhi, Bhopal, Nagpur, Kolkata, Varanasi, Prayagraj and many more cities.
- From Mumbai (CSMT/Dadar/Thane), fast trains take about 3–3.5 hours.
- Devlali, Igatpuri, Kasara and Manmad stations may help with overflow.
- Watch for Simhastha special trains, usually announced closer to the season.
By air
- Nashik Airport (Ozar) is about 20 km from the city, with a limited number of domestic flights. Check current schedules.
- Mumbai airport (about 170 km) and Pune airport (about 210 km) have far more flights. Continue by train or car.
- Shirdi airport is about 90 km away, useful if you are combining your trip with Shirdi.

| From | Approx. distance | Approx. time |
|---|---|---|
| Mumbai | 170 km | 4–5 hours |
| Pune | 210 km | ~5 hours |

Routes from Mumbai are compared in Mumbai to Nashik: train, expressway or ghat road?
On Amrit Snan days
Planning reported in 2026 by the authorities includes:
- Parking zones outside the city along the main highways. The authority invited landowners to offer land for temporary parking along several routes.
- Shuttle buses from parking zones to holding points near the ghats, followed by a walk.
- Vehicle-free zones near the riverfront.
The final traffic plan is published by Nashik Police and the Kumbh Mela Authority before the season. Always follow the latest advisory.
