Mansa Devi Temple

Hilltop Shakti temple on Bilwa Parvat, reached by ropeway or a steep walk, with views over Haridwar and the Ganga.

Mansa Devi, the goddess who fulfils wishes (mansa), sits on Bilwa Parvat above Har Ki Pauri. Devotees tie sacred threads on the tree in the temple complex and untie one when their wish is granted.

Together with Chandi Devi and Maya Devi, it forms Haridwar’s triangle of Siddh Peeths. A ropeway (udan khatola) makes the climb easy for seniors.

Visiting tips

  • Combined ropeway tickets for Mansa Devi and Chandi Devi are usually available.
  • Queues for the ropeway are long on snan days—go early.
