Museum · Prayagraj
The Nehru family home in Prayagraj, now a museum telling the story of India’s freedom struggle through letters, photos and rooms.
Anand Bhavan was the ancestral home of the Nehru family and a centre of the freedom movement. Today it is a museum with personal belongings, letters and photographs, while the neighbouring Swaraj Bhavan was the family’s earlier home.
Many meetings of national leaders were held here during the independence struggle, and the rooms preserve the furniture and atmosphere of that era. The landscaped grounds and the Jawahar Planetarium next door make it a good half-day outing for families between Sangam visits.
