The Triveni Sangam, Akbar's Fort with the Akshayavat, the Nehru family home, Mughal gardens and an easy trip to Varanasi.

Sightseeing in Prayagraj

  • The Sangam: take a boat to the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati at sunrise.
  • On the riverbank: Akbar's Fort with the Akshayavat and Patalpuri temple, and the Bade Hanuman temple.
  • The city: Anand Bhavan, the Nehru family home and freedom-struggle museum, and Khusro Bagh, a walled Mughal garden with fine sandstone tombs.
  • Day trips: Varanasi, about 120 km away, and Ayodhya, about 165 km.

Tip: during the Kumbh, keep city sightseeing for non-snan days, when pontoon bridges and roads are less restricted.
